What’s your early morning refresher? A cup of hot coffee, a quick shower or a sweaty workout? Whatever you do, check out this music video while doing your morning routines; it will give you the spirit you need to carry on in a great mood for the whole day.

Yes, the band’s name is Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty; you’ve got it right.

The band might not have a “decent” name; The Onion once selected the band among its 2007 worst-named groups of the year. So what? Their energy is contagious, and you’ll get addicted to the intrepid horn-funk mix when you listen to their music for the first time.

Deeply rooted in funk and fully committed to the ongoing evolution of the genre, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band has a sound that has the power and soul to create lasting melodies and seismic rhythms. This might be the first time you’re hearing about them, but the group has been together for a full decade, performing well over 150 shows and completing three to four national tours each year. They have released three albums so far: Now You Know (2007), Greatest Hips (2009) and Doin’ It Hard (2012).

If you’ve already gotten hooked by their distinctive music, I have some good news for you! They’re coming to the Hamilton in D.C. this Wednesday, Jan. 9. Go grab your friends for this fantastic concert and transform your average night into a night to remember. It’s going to be epic.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m./ The Hamilton, 600 14th St. N.W., Washington, D.C. Call 202-787-1000 or visit thehamiltondc.com;  $17 in advance, $20 at the door.
